Invested by Electricité du Cambodge (EDC), with ZTT as the EPC contractor and O&M operator, the project has a scale of 100 MW / 200 MWh, which can significantly enhance grid frequency regulation capability, operational stability, and renewable energy integration, while improving the reliability of power supply in Phnom Penh and surrounding areas.
Modern grid-scale energy storage, powered by integrated battery systems and intelligent control algorithms, delivers measurable benefits in cost efficiency and operational resilience. It reduces peak demand charges, maximizes solar self-consumption, and ensures seamless backup power during outages. More than just a technical upgrade, storage becomes a strategic asset—boosting energy independence, reinforcing sustainability commitments, and accelerating return on investment.
The intermittent nature of large-scale wind and solar generation disrupts real-time supply–demand balance. To maintain frequency and voltage stability, grids urgently need flexible, fast-responding resources that can smooth fluctuations in milliseconds.
The widening disparity between peak and off-peak demand places growing strain on aging infrastructure. Instead of costly network expansions, utilities require economic, scalable solutions to shift load and manage peak periods intelligently—ensuring reliable power delivery without overbuilding.
