Ice Melting OPGW

Suitable for ice disaster areas, direct current ice melting projects, anti-icing and anti-icing renovation projects.

(1)The product integrates three functions: lightning protection, fiber optic communication, and current flowable ice melting, and can be matched with conventional optical cable fittings; (2)The electrical insulation performance is stable and reliable, meeting the repeated melting of ice during the service life; (3)Solve the technical problem of line breakage and even tower collapse accidents caused by icing overload on the line, and passed the appraisal in 2017.

The built-in ice-melting OPGW structure is adopted,and several current-carrying wires are “embedded”in the OPGW. When the ice-melting operation is performed,the ice-melting current is passed into the current-carrying wires,so that the current-carrying wires generate resistance heat.Heat is conducted to the surface of the OPGW for ice melting.
