ZTTCE Hydrogen is excited to collaborate with HyWaves Cranfield University on an innovative research and development pilot plant in the UK. This project marks a significant milestone as it will feature the first ZTTCE electrolyser deployed in the UK, paving the way for future advancements in green hydrogen production.

HyWaves has developed pioneering technology to reduce the cost of green hydrogen, which currently remains around three times more expensive than its grey counterpart derived from fossil fuels. By optimising solar energy utilisation and eliminating the need for traditional power electronics, HyWaves’ advanced power management system lowers costs and increases hydrogen production efficiency and output for customers.

As part of this project, HyWaves will integrate its DC power management system with a 48 kW photovoltaic array, and ZTTCE Hydrogen will provide the variable control design electrolyser system. The project team will showcase a system to reduce energy loss in photovoltaic hydrogen production systems and increase hydrogen production.

Yesterday, representatives from HyWaves and Cranfield University visited ZTTCE Hydrogen for the factory acceptance test of the hydrogen production equipment, with HyWaves and ZTTCE signing an MOU to further solidify our partnership.

The experimental ZTTCE unit is expected to arrive in the UK at the end of April 2025 and will be available for demonstration to our UK and EU-based stakeholders.

With Europe accelerating its transition to a hydrogen-powered future, investments in renewable hydrogen production, infrastructure, and policy frameworks are growing rapidly. As the demand for cost-effective and efficient hydrogen solutions increases, ZTTCE Hydrogen is committed to driving innovation, reducing costs, and supporting Europe’s clean energy transformation. Through strategic partnerships and advanced technology, we aim to contribute to Europe's hydrogen ecosystem and accelerate the journey towards a sustainable future.
